George and Pastor Amanda Banda have been active members of Valley Praise since 2015. Born and raised in Harlingen, the Banda’s married in 2009 and together have three children: Davin, Leandra, and Brennan. They love spending time with family, celebrating holidays, birthdays, BBQ’s, game nights, and look for any opportunity to praise God for all that he has done in their lives!
George oversees, schedules, and trains our A/V teams, with an emphasis on our online campus. A passion for IT, George graduated from the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology.
Pastor Amanda currently serves at our Online Campus Pastor, overseeing online ministries that include: life groups, social media, livestream, marketing, creative team, a/v, and communications. Pastor Amanda joined the VP staff as Director for Connectional Ministry in January 2019 and appointed as Worship Pastor in 2020 after completing Local Pastor Licensing School in the Rio Texas Conference. In 2018 she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Leadership from Ashford University. Previously a high school teacher with Harlingen CISD, Pastor Amanda has plugged into the community in a variety of ways, including serving on the City Council of Harlingen PTAs, Harlingen Area Educational Foundation Board, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and Leadership Harlingen Class of XXIX. Pastor Amanda has a passion for teaching, learning, and pouring into others for the purpose of making disciples of Jesus Christ!
